Idris O’Connor
Vice President
Idris graduated from Prince William County Public Schools. He attended Northern Virginia Community College, George Mason University, and the UVA Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership. In his professional career, Idris has worked as a Community Organizer, Student Support Advisor for Northern Virginia Community College, and a Government Advisor for the Neabsco District Supervisor in Prince William County.
Idris has started civic organizations like the Greater Prince William Climate Action Network advocating for climate policies at the local and state level in 2015, he was a mentor for the NOVA MANUP Program from 2018 to 2020, mentoring students of color to achieve their professional and academic goals, and he is an active member of the Prince William Area NAACP.
Idris currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Prince William County Social Service Advisory Board, and as the Chairperson of the Cooperative Council of Ministries (CCoM), a coalition of churches and nonprofits that serves and advocates for people experiencing homelessness. Additionally, Idris is the Commissioner alternate for the Potomac Rappahannock Transportation Commission representing Prince William County.
