Joe Cottrell is a passionate advocate for the role mentorship and education play in the health and cohesion of communities. His professional platform is as a Commercial and Residential Mortgage Broker and Consultant with experience in the acquisition and development of more than $1 billion in real estate.
Joe is a student and survivor of adversity. During the 2008 housing and financial crisis, nearly $200k in student loan debt and the painful irony of being homeless while working for a national homebuilder created an unbearable existence that led to him becoming hope-blind. At his rock-bottom, he discovered that the bottom was the blessing. Desires without direction lead to detours and depression. However, for those who seek help, perspective gives way to half-full glasses and rock-bottom becomes the foundation for purpose.
He joins the board of Good Counseling uniquely connected to the people it serves and the power of its mission.
